StubHub Launches “Tickets for Trees” to Help Restore Green Mountain National Forest
SAN FRANCISCO-(Business Wire)-December 29, 2008 - StubHub, the world's largest ticket marketplace, has launched its “Tickets for Trees” program, an effort to plant a tree for every ticket purchased on StubHub for the 2008-09 NFL post-season. With the New York Giants clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs, StubHub, in partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), today announced that all tickets purchased for the Giants playoff games will benefit Green Mountain National Forest, the closest National Forest in proximity to team.
With the Giants set to host an NFC Divisional Game next week, StubHub will plant a tree in Green Mountain National Forest for each ticket purchased through StubHub for that event and a potential NFC Championship Game at Giants Stadium. Green Mountain National Forest, established in 1932 after uncontrolled logging, fire, and flooding, covers more than 400,000 acres and is located within a day’s drive to 70 million people. Between ticket purchases and individual donations, StubHub expects to plant several thousand trees in Green Mountain National Forest and tens of thousands of trees nationwide in 2009.

1. Buy a New York Giants NFL Playoff or Super Bowl XLIII ticket on StubHub.
2. Donate directly to the National Forest Foundation in the name of the New York Giants.

Planting trees is one of the easiest and most-cost effective ways to achieve all these things. For example, 30,000 newly planted trees would sequester more than 15,000 tons of carbon, significantly reducing the buildup of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere and slowing the rate of climate change.
