TRC Continues Award-Winning Engineering Design Programs in West Virginia
CHARLESTON, W. Va.-(Business Wire)-December 22, 2008 - TRC Companies, Inc. was recently recognized by the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) with two Engineering Excellence Awards at the 2008 Joint Transportation Forum, which was sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies of West Virginia, WVDOH, and the Federal Highway Administration.
In the Large Roadway Category, TRC was recognized for its box culvert design on the Corridor H project that saved WVDOH nearly $20 million and prevented more than a million cubic yards of excess excavation soil.
In the Statewide Construction Inspection Category, TRC was acknowledged for their responsive efforts providing on-call, multi-disciplined construction inspection services for various highway, bridge, and paving improvement projects across the state during the past year.
“We are proud to be named recipients of these important awards,” said David Clevenger, TRC’s eastern region infrastructure practice leader. “WVDOH is a highly-valued client, and it is our goal to continue to provide them a quality product.”
WVDOH’s Engineering Excellence program recognizes firms that have solved unique challenges in planning, design, and construction of West Virginia’s state roadway and bridge projects. The awards are presented annually.
