Schaeffer's Option Activity Alert: Heavy Pessimism Surrounds Moody's Corporation
CINCINNATI-(Business Wire)-September 29, 2009 - Option players are adopting a rather pessimistic stance on Moody's Corporation (NYSE: MCO). During the past five days, traders on the International Securities Exchange (ISE) have bought to open 25,744 puts on MCO, compared to just 5,242 calls. In other words, option players have snapped up 4.91 times more bearish bets than bullish during the past week.
The preference for puts over calls is highlighted by MCO's 10-day ISE put/call volume ratio, which checks in today at 1.51. However, it seems that the current thirst for put options is actually tamer than usual, as this reading ranks in just the eighth annual percentile.
