Stream Energy Named a Finalist for Two Platts Global Energy Awards
DALLAS-(Business Wire)-September 29, 2009 - Stream Energy, one of the fastest growing companies in U.S. business history, announced today that it has been designated as a finalist in two categories of the prestigious Platts Global Energy Awards.
This marks the third year in a row that Stream Energy has been selected in the Rising Star Award category. For 2009, Stream Energy is also recognized as a finalist for the Energy Efficiency Program of the Year Award for the firm’s educational efforts as part of its “Watt Zone” program.
“It is an honor to be recognized for the third year running by Platts as an emerging industry leader in the global energy marketplace,” said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. “Given the noteworthy reputations of our co-finalists, we are proud to be counted in their company — and hope to find, in fact, that the third time’s a charm.”
According to Platts, “Finalists were selected from a record number of nominations, based on the criteria for each category, taking into consideration the company's profile and financial performance from within the designated time-frame.”
“The announcement by Platts that we are being recognized in two categories is yet another testament to the impressive position that Stream Energy and its Ignite Associates occupy in the energy industry,” said Stream Energy Senior Managing Director Chris Domhoff, who is the founder of Ignite, the company’s wholly owned marketing arm.
Winners of the 2009 Global Energy Awards will be announced on December 3, 2009, at an awards ceremony in New York City.
