Dr. J. Greg Hanson to Speak at IMF IT Security Summit Forum

VIENNA, Va.-(Business Wire)-September 29, 2009 - Dr. J. Greg Hanson, Criterion Systems’ Executive Vice President, Defense and Homeland Security, is a featured speaker at the IMF Forum: IT Security Summit. Dr. Hanson’s presentation, ‘Lessons from the Sandbox & Leaving the Fortress’ is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 at 3:15 p.m.

The former CIO of the U.S. Senate will use anecdotes from his experience at the Senate combined with those from his tenures with the Air Force, NATO and industry to illustrate the types and nature of cyber threats. Dr. Hanson will also highlight practical innovations for addressing those threats.

Dr. Hanson brings nearly 32 years of technology leadership experience to Criterion Systems, a leading provider of information technology services to government and commercial clients. As Executive Vice President, Dr. Hanson leads the teams designing and supporting mission-critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Prior to joining Criterion, Dr. Hanson served as CIO for the U.S. Senate where he was responsible for the technology vision and strategy. He is a respected international lecturer and author, and the recipient of numerous awards for leadership and professional excellence including two FED 100 Awards and an AFFIRM Leadership Award. Dr. Hanson earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, a master’s of science degree in information systems from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, and a bachelor of science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is also an adjunct full professor, teaching graduate computer science courses for the University of Maryland University College.

The IT Security Summit will take place October 6-7 at IMF Member US Pharmacopeia’s headquarters at 12601 Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville, Md.
