Former Mexico President Vicente Fox to Address U.S. Engineering Leaders at ACEC Fall Conference in Palm Springs
WASHINGTON-(Business Wire)-September 28, 2009 - Former Mexico President Vicente Fox will discuss the U.S./Mexico relationship, as well as global business challenges at the upcoming American Council of Engineering Companies’ Fall Conference, Thursday, October 8, at the La Quinta Resort and Club in Palm Springs, Calif.
ACEC is the Washington, D.C.-based business association of America’s engineering industry representing nearly 5,700 independent engineering companies throughout the nation. The Conference, themed “Engineering America’s Recovery,” runs October 7-10.
Fox is considered one of the world’s most important voices on contemporary political and business issues. When elected president of Mexico in 2000, he became the first president in 70 years to be elected from a political party other than the previous ruling party.
During his six-year tenure, Fox played a vital role in Mexico’s democratization and strengthened the country’s economy. He was able to control run-away inflation and interest rates, as well as achieve the lowest unemployment rate in Latin America.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is the business association of America’s engineering industry, representing approximately 5,700 independent engineering companies throughout the United States engaged in the development of America’s transportation, environmental, industrial, and other infrastructure. Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACEC is a national federation of 51 state and regional organizations.
