Over the weekend, Myrtle Beach, SC honored the groundbreaking of the city’s first-of-its-kind, downtown oceanfront boardwalk and promenade with celebration that featured a 50-ton, 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide, colored sand-art rendering of the mile-long boardwalk, which is expected to be complete by summer 2010. The celebration also included the world’s largest outdoor Shag Dance floor and performances by top names in Motown and beach music.
