PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.-(Business Wire)-September 28, 2009 - Pall Corporation (NYSE:PLL) will showcase a portfolio of new filtration and separation solutions for the wine industry at the International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition (SIMEI) in Milan, Italy, on November 24-28, 2009. Pall provides a complete range of filtration products, services, and process management tools engineered to meet the unique requirements of the winemaking process.

“Our new products enhance Pall’s ability to help wineries cut costs, ensure consistency, and protect the character of wine while complying with regulatory standards for materials coming into contact with foodstuffs,” said Nicole Madrid, global marketing manager for wine and spirits at Pall. “Our focus is on enabling our customers to achieve total process control with new sustainable products, in line with most wineries’ conservation programs.”

New products on display at SIMEI will include the following:

The Pall Oenofine XL system - a modern system utilizing Pall’s proven hollow fiber modules and a proprietary bentonite that combines protein stabilization and wine clarification into a single, cost-saving process step.

SUPRApak™ filter modules - an alternative to classical sheet filtration with 250 % higher dirt-holding capacity with a comparable surface area, all in a compact footprint. Modules deliver higher throughputs, no drip losses and shorter change-out times.

The Pall Oenofil system - an automated system for cold microbiological stabilization of wine. It enables wineries to reduce labor and downtime, lower the consumption of water and chemicals, and extend filter life up to 30 %, thereby reducing operating costs.

The Oenoflow™ XL-E system - a fully automated hollow fiber microfiltration system for small and mid-size wineries designed for cost-effective replacement of traditional diatomaceous earth and sheet filter operations.

The Oenopure™ II filter - an advanced final filter engineered to withstand extended exposure to repeated sanitization cycles, offering longer service life.

Pall Food and Beverage is a filtration and separation solutions provider for the complete wine production process. In addition to meeting the wine industry’s standards for cost saving, product quality, and reduced water and energy consumption, Pall has qualified a portfolio of products to comply with the EU Framework Regulation on Food Contact Materials - European Regulations Number (EC) 1935/2004.
