Merrill Corp. Launches Merrill Lextranet® Transcript Repository Version 2 with Integrated Video Deposition Search and Synchronization
ST. PAUL, Minn.-(Business Wire)-September 28, 2009 - Merrill Corporation, a leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the financial, health care, real estate, legal and other corporate markets, today announced the release of the newest version of the Merrill Lextranet® Transcript Repository, one of the legal industry’s most comprehensive solutions for managing deposition-related materials. The new version features key enhancements, including search and synching for video depositions, a feature unique in the litigation support marketplace.
The Merrill Lextranet Transcript Repository, part of Merrill’s comprehensive suite of litigation support services, provides a secure, Web-based environment that allows multiple users to log in with a secure Internet connection from any location with 24-hour access. Once securely logged in, users can quickly search, organize, evaluate and share deposition calendars, transcripts, exhibits and other related documents and files. The new release adds a video deposition library and tools that make it easy to review video assets and incorporate them into case preparation. Users can search for keywords and quickly and easily find their occurrences across all video depositions in a case. Keyword occurrences appear in a convenient display window that synchronizes their location on both the transcript and accompanying synchronized video. Annotations also are searchable and synchronized to the video testimony and transcript.
“The Merrill Lextranet Transcript Repository’s new video deposition tools, which complement its robust transcript review and calendaring capabilities, are a direct result of feedback we have received from our legal clients around the country,” said David Perry, senior director of court reporting product management for Merrill. “Video depositions often are key elements in case strategy and trial preparation, and attorneys increasingly are pressed to find ways to effectively incorporate video testimony into case strategy. The Lextranet Transcript Repository’s new features enable attorneys and their team members to collaborate more effectively and efficiently by providing a single, Web-based source for managing transcripts, evidence, calendars and video depositions with secure access around the clock, wherever their work takes them.”
