Umit Basoglu Joins NJVC as Vice President of Business Development Operations
VIENNA, Va.-(Business Wire)-September 28, 2009 - NJVC, one of the largest information technology solutions providers supporting the United States Department of Defense, has hired Dr. Umit Basoglu as vice president of business development operations. In his new role, Basoglu will oversee the company’s business development organization—establishing and tracking performance against plans and goals, among other areas of management responsibility.

Basoglu has more than 30 years of professional experience in executive management and technical experience in geospatial intelligence, including product planning and software development. Most recently, he provided consulting services to NJVC, supporting strategic growth initiatives and reporting directly to NJVC chief operations officer Jill Bruning.
Prior to NJVC, Basoglu enjoyed a 26-year tenure with Intergraph Corporation, holding several management positions in Reston, Va., and Huntsville, Ala. Most recently, he was Intergraph’s executive vice president of defense and intelligence. In this role, Basoglu managed the professional services and advanced programs groups for federal and international business in the area of geospatial intelligence, overseeing strategic planning, personnel management and product direction. He played a critical role in helping the company achieve more than $30 million in revenue and successfully negotiated two of the largest software and maintenance contracts in Intergraph’s history.
A published author, Basoglu earned a doctorate in geography and master’s degrees in computer science and cartography from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
