James Scott Farrin Celebrates 12th Anniversary
DURHAM, N.C.-(Business Wire)-September 24, 2009 - Sept. 1, 2009 marked the 12th anniversary of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin providing quality legal services.
Founder and President James S. Farrin opened the firm in Durham in 1997 with two employees. Today, the firm has 13 locations, 24 lawyers and more than 100 employees and has assisted thousands of people in the areas of workers’ compensation, car accidents, commercial truck accidents, personal injury, social security disability, product liability, mass torts, class actions, intellectual property and civil rights.
“The key to our success is staying true to our founding purpose – combining quality representation with exceptional customer service,” Farrin says.
Farrin knows that hiring exceptional staff is critical to the firm’s continued success. Several of the firm’s attorneys are Board Certified Specialists in the fields of either Workers’ Compensation or Social Security Disability Law by the North Carolina State Bar. Several are fluent in both Spanish and English. Numerous attorneys hold leadership positions within the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, a nonprofit, nonpartisan association dedicated to protecting people's rights through professional and community legal education, championing individual rights, and protecting the safety of North Carolina's families in the workplace, in the home, and in the environment.
The firm also believes in giving back to the community. It donates thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of volunteer services to local charities each year. Recently, it became a Silver Sponsor of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual “Light the Night” fundraising event.
Each staff member is also encouraged to become active in a philanthropic endeavor of his or her choice, and the firm provides matching donations for charitable giving by employees, which have benefited such diverse organizations as The American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs of North Carolina and the Greenville Community Shelter.
“We would never have come this far without the support of the local community,” Farrin said. “This awareness is part of the very makeup of the firm.”
