MELBOURNE, Fla.-(Business Wire)-September 24, 2009 - Nationally-respected urogynecologist Ralph Zipper, MD recently founded Laser Gyn Institute, an educational institution designed to help women understand aesthetic gynecology, an emerging area of medicine popularized by vaginal and labial rejuvenation procedures.

Cosmetic surgery has grown in popularity throughout the world; however, women hesitant to discuss their concerns about vaginal looseness, enlarged or irregular labia or loss of sexual satisfaction. According to Zipper, many women don’t even realize there are surgical techniques to solve their problems.

Laser Gyn’s primary teaching tool is a new website, www.lasergyn.com. Laser Gyn seeks to educate women on options and desired outcomes of vaginal rejuvenation procedures. The website teaches women that the goal of any good vaginal rejuvenation procedure should be to restore or create a normal vaginal anatomy. The site encourages women to understand their anatomy in order to make educated decisions on aesthetic gynecology procedures.

The website, www.lasergyn.com, features topics including female anatomy, pelvic organ prolapse and hormones. Additionally, the website covers guidelines for the newest approaches to incisionless laser vaginal rejuvenation, laser labia rejuvenation, laser prepuceplasty, and laser perineoplasty.

After researching procedures on the site, women can use the Find a Surgeon function to locate certified surgeons in their area to schedule a consultation. Surgeons become certified after completing training offered at Laser Gyn headquarters in Florida. All Laser Gyn certified surgeons are board certified or eligible gynecologists, urologists, or urogynecologists. Laser Gyn doesn’t support surgeons performing surgery outside their area of expertise.

“With patients and surgeons we stress reasonable expectations and healthy lifestyle choices. We steer clear of claims made by other doctors who say these procedures equal a fantastic sex life,” says Zipper. “On the contrary, we seek to educate the medical community and our patients that sexual gratification has multiple components including a normal youthful vagina, vulva, and hormone levels. For many women, how they look directly affects how they feel. We don’t want to ignore the importance of other factors and make ‘snake-oil salesman’ types of promises.”

Laser Gyn Institute is a center dedicated to the education of patients and surgeons in aesthetic gynecology. The headquarters is located at 1130 S. Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne, Florida. It’s is known for its stringent adherence to evidence-based laser surgery and complies with standards set by the American Board of Aesthetic Gynecology (ABAGyn).
