SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Louisville Remain Open Monday Through Saturday

ATLANTA-(Business Wire)-September 23, 2009 - The U.S. Small Business Administration reminds disaster victims that the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers located in Louisville at the African-American Heritage Center and the South Louisville Community Center are still open. SBA representatives remain available six days a week to assist loan applicants.

If the SBA issued you a SBA disaster loan application, complete and return it prior to the October 13 deadline, even if you do not want a loan. If the SBA is not able to approve a home loan, they may refer you to FEMA for possible grant assistance.

Homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes in Jefferson County, Kentucky, are eligible to apply for physical disaster loans. SBA disaster loans are for uninsured disaster losses.

The SBA urges those affected by the severe storms and flooding that affected Jefferson County on August 4, 2009, to visit the Centers to obtain one-on-one assistance and information about the disaster assistance program. The Disaster Loan Outreach Center locations and hours of operation are:

Open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., until further notice.

Anyone unable to visit one of the Centers may obtain information and loan applications by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the hearing impaired), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT, or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Business loan applications can also be downloaded from the SBA Web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Completed applications should be returned to one of the Centers or mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX. 76155.

Those affected by the disaster may apply for disaster loans from SBA’s secure Web site at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is October 13, 2009. The deadline to return economic injury applications is May 14, 2010.
