If It’s Freezing...It’s Free at Giants Stadium
NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-September 23, 2009 - With the success of their sponsorship of the Yankee Stadium tarp, Weatherproof® will continue marketing their brand with sports related partnerships. The apparel company will become the official “temperature sponsor” of Giants Stadium; their logo and the temperature will appear prior to kickoff on the Jumbotron and public address at all home games.
In addition, at each Giants home game, one lucky row of fans, picked randomly, will receive free Weatherproof® jackets when temperatures go below 32°. This parallels the company’s past success with their “…if it’s freezing, it’s free giveaway at Thanksgiving.
“Our new promotion at Giants Stadium is another great branding opportunity with local sports teams, that's as unique as our Yankee Stadium tarp sponsorship. Both branding promotions are part of our marketing strategies to reach our demographic in extraordinary ways,” says Eliot Peyser, CEO of Weatherproof®.
To accentuate the partnership, radio announcers will deliver a five second pre-game and five second in-game mention for 16 games featuring Weatherproof® on Giants Radio Network and affiliates. Jackets will be supplied to all commentators to complete the branding program.
Weatherproof® is the leading producer of men’s, women’s and children’s moderately priced fashion outerwear. Started in 1994 by Freddie Stollmack and Eliot Peyser of David Peyser Sportswear, the first collection revolutionized the fabric industry in menswear with the introduction of microfiber. From that starting point, the collection evolved into wools, leathers, microsuedes, faux shearlings, and water resistant polyester “ultra-tech” fabrics. In addition to men’s women’s 32 Degrees and kids collections, the company boasts twelve licenses including pants, hosiery, activewear, hats and gloves, dress shirts and ties et al.
