Details:

The nine-member CHSRA Board of Directors will review a staff
recommendation for $4.6 billion in federal stimulus funding for California's
high-speed train system. The Board is being asked to approve the
detailed application for a significant share of $8 billion allocated under the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for high-speed train
development in the United States. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will
submit the state's application to the Federal Railroad Administration by
the federal government's Oct. 2 deadline.
 
The Authority is proposing to match federal funding with a portion of the
$9 billion approved by California voters last November for a new high-
speed train system in California.
