| Details: | The nine-member CHSRA Board of Directors will review a staff | |
| recommendation for $4.6 billion in federal stimulus funding for California's | ||
| high-speed train system. The Board is being asked to approve the | ||
| detailed application for a significant share of $8 billion allocated under the | ||
| American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for high-speed train | ||
| development in the United States. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will | ||
| submit the state's application to the Federal Railroad Administration by | ||
| the federal government's Oct. 2 deadline. | ||
| The Authority is proposing to match federal funding with a portion of the | ||
| $9 billion approved by California voters last November for a new high- | ||
| speed train system in California. | ||
