Welcome Mats That Matter at Ronald McDonald House Charities®
CHICAGO-(Business Wire)-September 22, 2009 - Welcome mats offering messages of LOVE, HOPE, CARE and COMFORT are reinforcing Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana’s commitment to providing families a home away from home while their children are treated at nearby hospitals. “Our idea was to use a welcome mat as both a core brand icon as well as a unique and meaningful fundraising tool,” explains Mike Valenti, president and creative director, VALENTI Advertising Design Ideas. “Great branding ideas are simple. What’s important is what you do to make it relevant, powerful and memorable.”
Literally taking the effort from an idea to reality in less than four weeks, the VALENTI team created a full range of brand campaign creative materials, and sourced an affordable manufacturer to produce the actual mats to sell as a fundraiser. “VALENTI developed a breakthrough branding icon for our charity,” says Doug Porter, RMHC®-CNI Chief Executive Officer. “The Welcome Mat campaign has drawn interest from all over the country and significantly enhanced the understanding and impact our charity has on the community and families we serve.”
The 100% natural coconut fiber mats are available for a $50 donation and offered at supporting events and online. Monies raised goes to help build the world’s largest Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, scheduled to open early 2012.
