Dan Dawson Named a Fellow with NSPE & PENC

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-(Business Wire)-September 22, 2009 - WK Dickson & Co., Inc. is proud to announce that Daniel E. Dawson, PE, PLS, Vice President and Director of Urban Design, has been named a Fellow by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC).

The Fellow recognition program was established to honor active NSPE and PENC members who have demonstrated exemplary service to the organizations, the engineering profession and the community. Potential Fellows are nominated by a PENC Fellow or local chapter and the nomination must be approved by the Executive Board. Fellow membership is the highest honor that can be given to a NSPE or PENC member.

Dawson has been active in many professional and civic organizations. He has been a member of NSPE and PENC since 1974 and is the Vice Chair of the Professional Engineers in Private Practice for the NSPE Southeast region, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. He is a past member of the North Carolina Progress Board, the North Carolina Sedimentation and Erosion Control Commission and the Board of Trustees of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
