Flying Game Reenactment Online!
CARY, N.C.-(Business Wire)-September 22, 2009 - iEntertainment Network, (PINK SHEETS: IENT.pk), the award-winning developer of the world famous WarBirds TotalSims air combat simulation flying game series, today announced that “Cats and Zekes”, a reenactment of the intense air battles over Guadalcanal, 1942, will be held starting Sunday, Sept 27th, 2009, at 0030 GMT (2030 EDT), in the online arenas of iEntertainment Network. The online event will run for five Sundays.
Hundreds of online players are expected to participate in this longest running online World War II reenactment series, the Squadron Select Series (S3). These players will fly on both sides of the reenactment for the Allies (in F4F-4 Wildcats, SBDs, TBDs, B25s and B-17s,), against the Imperial Japanese (in A6M Zeros, D3A1s Vals, B5N2 Kates and G4M Bettys).
The threat to the crucial US-Australian shipping route posed by the construction of a Japanese airfield on Guadalcanal forced the US to send a force of Marines to capture and hold this suddenly important island in the Solomon’s. The best IJN Zero pilots would face the best US Marine Corps and US Navy Wildcat pilots with fierce dogfights the order of the day over Henderson Airfield. Several carrier battles would play out around the Solomon Islands. The Allies know that to lose here would dash any hopes of further offensive action in the Pacific Theatre. The Imperial Japanese Navy aviators know they have to stop the Allies here!
Players will participate as member of their online Squadrons. Some of those Squadrons include the =4th= Fighter Group, the 31st Fighter Group, JG-27, JG-51, the 332nd Fighter Group, Menacing Ferrets, 100th FBG, Knights of Ni!, and over 15 other online Squadrons.
Virtual aviators, who want to participate in this reenactment, can download the simulation software from www.TotalSims.com for FREE and fly with assignment to one of the current online Squadrons.
