Gabriel Vorobiof, MD, Named MHVI Medical Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology & Cardiac Imaging
LONG BEACH, Calif.-(Business Wire)-September 22, 2009 - Officials at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC) have named Gabriel Vorobiof, MD, Medical Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging of the MemorialCare Heart and Vascular Institute (MHVI), effective immediately.
Dr. Vorobiof comes to MHVI from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., where he was Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Vorobiof completed cardiology fellowship training at the University of Rochester Medical Center and then completed an advanced, multi-modality cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.
As noninvasive cardiology medical director, Vorobiof will provide clinical, administrative and quality oversight for all the non-invasive services including the cardiac exercise and read panel for all non-invasive cardiac studies at MHVI. The Institute has the latest cardiovascular imaging equipment and provides a high-quality, multi-modality approach to the diagnosis and management of heart disease. Its full-range capabilities include a 64-slice cardiac CT, PET/CT stress testing, cardiovascular MRI and 3-D echocardiography. These technologies provide detailed images and allow for the safe and non-invasive evaluation of the complex structure and function of the cardiovascular system.
