NEW: Wharton Interactive Media Initiative Scholarship for Journalists on Digital Platforms at Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists: October 18-21, 2009
-(Business Wire)-September 21, 2009 - Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania:
What: The Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists have, for over 40 years, provided 2,200 members of the media insight from Wharton faculty into topics such as financial markets, accounting principles, corporate strategy, and the global economy.
This year for the first time the Seminars program, in partnership with the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative (WIMI), is pleased to provide journalists using emerging technologies and digital platforms two scholarships to the Seminars. The scholarships are to be awarded to business journalists working in digital delivery formats including Web sites, blogs and video. Business journalists are invited to apply for this scholarship which includes tuition, course materials and most meals. NOTE: Travel and lodging costs are not included.

When: Applications for the Scholarship for Journalists on Digital Platforms are due by September 30, 2009. The Seminars program runs Sun-Wed, October 18-21, 2009.
Where: Classes are held on the University of Pennsylvania campus at Wharton’s Jon. M. Huntsman Hall in Philadelphia, Pa. Participants are encouraged to secure lodging as soon as possible. More information is available on the Seminars home page.
Cost: For those not chosen for a scholarship who can secure funding, the program cost is $1,995, with an extended payment date of October 5, 2009.
About the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists: Through intensive lectures and hands-on exercises, the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists, led by Wharton’s most prominent professors, help participants gain better understanding of key business and economic issues.
