Taipei INST 2009 Readies to Launch 2,000 Inventions & Know-How

TAIPEI, Taiwan-(Business Wire)-September 21, 2009 - A record number of exhibitors will be at Asia’s hottest venue, namely the Taipei INST (The 5th Taipei Int’l Invention Show and Technomart) which unfolds September 24 to 27, 2009 at TWTC Exhibition Hall 1.

All booth space for INST was sold out just two months after applications were opened last March (more than 70 exhibitors are wait-listed). This event hosts nearly 600 inventors, institutions, and related originations from home and abroad to use 895 booths. There has been huge response which has attracted exhibitors from 15 nations as diverse as the United States, Japan, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, the Netherlands, France and Hungary. The venue will be the launching site of a projected 2,000 patented technologies and innovative inventions.

Top state support guarantees success

More than 20 organizations have joined together to guarantee your success at INST. Organizers, sponsors, and researchers include elite state agencies, associations, industrial organizations and academic and research institutions. Together they aim to create a global showcase for Taiwan R&D and innovation.

INST is jointly supervised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Education, National Science Council and the Council of Agriculture. Planning has been jointly conducted by Intellectual Property Office (MOEA), the Industrial Development Bureau (MOEA), Bureau of Energy (MOEA), Bureau of Foreign Trade, (MOEA), Department of Industrial Technology (MOEA), the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (MOEA), Department of Investment Services (MOEA), and the State-owned Enterprise Commission (MOEA). Meanwhile TAITRA, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Taiwan Technology Marketplace Service Center (TWTM) are responsible for its execution.

TWO MAJOR PAVILIONS STAGE EVERYTHING IN INVENTION:

1) Invention Pavilion:

This area covers three main themes of Smart Life, Green Future and Biotech & Medicare. Theme days help exhibitors demo their latest products and inventions.

More than 650 new inventions, products and patented technologies will be displayed in this area. These include: a Ozone AntiBacterial Sanitizer that can Sterilize, decompose agricultural chemicals, maintain freshness, and remove odor; a Revotherapy that combines the functions of to relax and exercise people of all ages. Wear a safety helmets with hidden lighting devices specially designed for motorcyclists or make life easier by using the Easy Folder to fold clothes quickly and tidily.

2) Technomart Pavilion:

Center of Integration for Industrial, Academic & Research Institutions

In this area, 12 themed displays will are jointly set up by five major government ministries to display more than 800 new breakthroughs in environmentally-friendly energy, medical biotechnology, electronics, optoelectronics, information and communications technologies and many other diverse new applications and technologies including Anti-theft Bicycles, Deodorizer Garbage Cane, a Food-monitoring Refrigerator with Voice Controller, Vibrating Skin Masks, and a Second Generation Instant Messaging Robot.

In addition, TIPO will also be setting up the TIPO Innovative Invention Pavilion at the exhibition to display new inventions, new technologies, and winners of the National Invention Awards, which include 50 awarded patents such as an ASBD Seismic Damper, Human or Animal Emotion Voice-Controlled Pacify Device, and a Sunny Umbrella with UV Sensor. In addition to the practicality of the entries for this competition, some of them are already in commercial production and have created an accumulated total output of over NT$10 billion, with technology licensing payments of over NT$1 billion. This provides winning entries with a platform for technology licensing and an ideal trading platform.

INST will host more than 20 vendor proprietary product and technology launch conferences, 14 technology consultations and seminars, and projects more than 80,000 visits from international buyers, domestic venture capitalists, enterprise representatives and the academic community.
