CoPilot® Live™ Adds Free Map Updates and Launches Premium Live Services To iPhone GPS App
PRINCETON, N.J.-(Business Wire)-September 18, 2009 - ALK Technologies Inc. today announced an updated version of its CoPilot Live iPhone GPS navigation App for North America. The update is free of charge for existing users and available immediately via the App Store.
The updated App includes the latest street maps of USA and Canada, access to premium real-time information services and a ground breaking map update service called MapSure™. It also adds a number of new features and enhancements based on extensive customer feedback.
FREE MAP UPDATES: The new MapSure™ service will ensure that CoPilot Live iPhone customers will always have the most up-to-date street maps available throughout the life cycle of the current product. Customers will receive free monthly map maintenance downloads and quarterly map updates. In addition, map improvements reported by customers - for example new road layouts or street addresses - will be verified, added to the maps and distributed via a download within 45 days.
PREMIUM LIVE SERVICES: The original connected navigation system, CoPilot Live can already use an iPhone’s built-in mobile Internet connection to provide Live weather information and free LiveLink™ web-based location sharing. Now CoPilot Live iPhone customers can access premium Live services including real-time traffic information, fuel prices at nearby gas stations and Live local search. Premium services are available to purchase immediately for a single price of $19.99 - a genuine world-first for iPhone GPS navigation - from www.copilotlive.com/iphone.
NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS: The updated App also brings a number of improvements and new features, including the ability to dial a Point of Interest (POI), improved GPS performance and a full QWERTY keyboard.
Since its launch in August, CoPilot Live has had a significant impact on the iPhone App Store, and is the highest grossing of all Apps across major European markets including UK, Italy, Spain and France.
