TV Guide Network to Air Exclusive Interview with Patrick Swayze Discussing the Making of “Dirty Dancing” Thursday, September 17 at 8:00 P.M. ET/PT
LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-September 16, 2009 - TV Guide Network announced today that it will continue its memorial coverage of Patrick Swayze this week with an exclusive sit-down interview in which the actor recounts his favorite “Dirty Dancing” moments and his experiences with his fellow castmates. “Patrick Swayze: The Unseen Interview” will premiere on TV Guide Network Thursday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
"A lot of people say this was a movie about the loss of innocence. And I believe it was a movie about the rediscovery of innocence," said Swayze during the interview. "Sometimes a movie encapsulates a period or a moment in all of our lives in such a way that it never dies. And I think ‘Dirty Dancing’ did that."
“Patrick Swayze: The Unseen Interview” is taken exclusively from a special 20th anniversary DVD edition of “Dirty Dancing” from Lionsgate Home Video. During the TV special, Swayze talks extensively about the making of “Dirty Dancing” and how much he really related to the character of Johhny Castle. He also shares his special memories working with the cast, including his co-star Jennifer Grey.
