Devereux Pennsylvania to Host Masquerade Gala Honoring Trustee Lisa Yang
VILLANOVA, Pa.-(Business Wire)-September 16, 2009 - Devereux Pennsylvania will host its 11th Annual Gala, A Mystery and Magic Black-Tie Affair, at the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue, October 3rd at 6:30 p.m. Devereux trustee and parent Lisa Yang, Rosemont, PA, will be honored at the event with the 2009 Cheryl & Howard Hassman Devereux Leadership Award for her generosity, leadership and personal commitment to the organization.
Devereux is one of the largest not-for-profit providers of mental health and behavioral health care services in the United States. With Centers in 11 states, Devereux supports over 15,000 individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders. Devereux Pennsylvania serves 3,400 children, adults and families with special needs.
“Lisa has been a central figure in our efforts to provide innovative care for children and adults with intellectual, behavioral and emotional challenges,” said Devereux President and CEO Bob Kreider. “Lisa’s leadership, both as a trustee and member of the Pennsylvania Advisory Board, as well as her generosity has directly impacted our ability to bring happiness and personal fulfillment to some of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable citizens.”

Proceeds from the gala provide services that build essential skills, pride and self-esteem in the children, adolescents, and adults served by Devereux’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Centers. Activities include Special Olympics, scouting, recreation, art, music programming, community service and cultural and educational field trips.
