Higher Learning Commission Extends Northcentral University’s Accreditation Through 2013
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz.-(Business Wire)-September 16, 2009 - Northcentral University (www.ncu.edu), an innovator in 100% online higher education, announced today that the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahlc.org) extended its accreditation for a five-year period that runs through 2013. Additionally, according to Dr. Clinton Gardner, President of the University, the Commission issued accreditation for two new programs: Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy.

This notification comes at a time when Northcentral University is experiencing growth in enrollment and recognition by third-party organizations. In August, G.I. Jobs magazine named NCU a “2010 Military Friendly School,” placing it in the top 15% of colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide. NCU also received certification to participate in Title IV financial aid programs. In July, the University received a “2009 Best Buy” award from GetEducated.com for its Bachelor in Business Administration programs. Also in July, the Federal Bureau of Investigation named NCU a partner in its University Education Program. In June, NCU awarded degrees to the largest graduating class in their 13-year history. In May 2009, the University’s Computer Information Security Program was certified at the highest level by the U.S. Department of Defense’s National Security Systems (CNSS).
