Powerit Solutions Named to the 2009 Global Cleantech 100 List
SEATTLE-(Business Wire)-September 15, 2009 - Seattle-based Powerit Solutions (www.poweritsolutions.com), a provider of intelligent energy management systems to more than 2,500 facilities, was named one of the top 100 private cleantech companies in the world based on the commercial and environmental promise of its technology.
The smart grid–savvy company is one of 18 listed in the energy efficiency field and one of 56 North American companies recognized. Its technology combines precise demand-side control with an open communication architecture that helps connect buildings and factories to the emerging smart grid.
“We are thrilled to be recognized in this global list of top companies by our cleantech peers,” says Bob Zak, general manager and president of Powerit Solutions. “Our technology is already hard at work today across North America and Europe, transforming the way the industrial and commercial sectors use energy.
“This honor reflects Powerit’s many advances, including our significant breakthroughs in automating demand response and real-time pricing implementations for end-users—that has been a game-changer for our clients. We’re excited to be making a difference in energy efficiency, and to be helping clients participate in savings initiatives at a level that they thought was beyond their reach.”
Powerit’s Spara EMS is an integrated hardware, wireless I/O, and software product that automatically adjusts energy usage throughout a facility for maximum savings and efficiency. Spara incorporates Powerit’s deep industry experience and facility-specific knowledge to control on-site equipment for managing energy demand so that users can leverage rate and incentive program benefits —without disrupting production or compromising quality. Spara EMS is highly cost-effective to implement. It integrates with existing automation systems, and users regularly achieve ROI within 18 months, often less.
Created by The Guardian and the Cleantech Group, the 2009 Global Cleantech 100 list recognizes companies from around the world at the forefront of cleantech innovation. The two research organizations surveyed hundreds of cleantech experts to identify 3,500 companies with the best commercial potential. Then, 35 panelists narrowed the field to produce the top 100 list – the first global, peer-reviewed look at the industry, according to the researchers. To be considered for the list, companies had to be unlisted, private and independent.
