SIX7*8th Magazine Joins Make A Mark Tween Empowerment Event as Media Sponsor

PASADENA, Calif.-(Business Wire)-September 15, 2009 - Make A Mark, an event designed to educate and empower tween girls on healthy body image and self-esteem, announces SIX7*8th magazine, The Sewing Studio, and Han’s Beauty as its latest event sponsors. Make A Mark kicks off on October 10 in Pasadena, inviting girls between the ages of 9–14 and their mothers to participate in an afternoon of entertainment and learning.

SIX7*8th is a junior high lifestyle magazine that is devoted to helping girls navigate personal and school success. SIX7*8th delivers a realistic view of the transition girls experience during junior high and a representational voice of tween culture.

The Sewing Studio will present a fashion sewing workshop that will emphasize looks inspired by current fashion designers. In the skin care workshop, Han’s Beauty experts will educate tweens and moms with skin analyses and how to care for specific skin types.

Activities at the event will include:

  • Motivational speaker Jennifer Curtet;
  • A fashion show presented by Plum Denim and Jellypop Shoes;
  • Workshops on skin care (by Han’s Beauty), health, nutrition and active lifestyles;
  • Arts and crafts workshops: floral arrangement from Fleuretica, sewing by The Sewing Studio;
  • A panel discussion that helps mothers build positive relationships with their daughters (a significant part of the campaign emphasizes the mother’s role); and
  • An array of exhibitor booths.
