Chex® Party Mix Calls Taste Buds To Task
MINNEAPOLIS-(Business Wire)-September 15, 2009 - Now, the unsung heroes of flavor – taste buds – are given a voice. Along with best-selling cookbook author Katie Lee, Chex® cereal challenged creative cooks across the country to enter their signature recipe in the first-ever Chex Party Mix Recipe Contest. Recipes flooded in from across the country and a panel of food experts from the Betty Crocker Kitchens and Taste of Home narrowed the field to five finalists. Now, Chex is asking for America’s help to MAKE IT, TASTE IT and VOTE to determine the grand prize winner at www.ChexRecipeContest.com. Voting ends October 15, 2009.
“I grew up making Chex Party Mix with my family, and it’s inspiring to see the many variations from fans across the country,” said Lee. “With flavors ranging from rosemary to ranch, there is something for every one!”
Five Flavorful Finalists
After reviewing thousands of recipes, the five finalists were selected for their creativity, flavor and simple 15-minute prep time.
“The judges were blown away by the creative and delicious homemade Chex Party Mix recipes, and America will have a tough time choosing a favorite,” said Joe Driscoll, marketing manager for Chex cereal. The five finalists are (in alphabetical order):
