Dennis McTighe Joins RaySat Broadcasting Corporation as SVP Sales for AT&T CruiseCastSM
DALLAS-(Business Wire)-September 15, 2009 - Dennis C. McTighe has been appointed Senior Vice President, Sales, for RaySat Broadcasting Corporation (RBC), the company introducing AT&T CruiseCastSM service to the market.
AT&T CruiseCast service is a breakthrough new in-car entertainment service providing 22 premium satellite TV channels and 20 radio channels of on-the-go, rear-seat entertainment for families, commuters and mobile professionals. The service was launched in June.
McTighe was named to the new top sales position at RBC after spending over 20 years as a high-ranking sales executive with Sony Electronics Inc. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President Sales for Sony’s Dallas-based, 17-state Western Zone, a position in which he had responsibility for both regional and national accounts that included such accounts as Wal-Mart Stores, Costco, Sam’s Club, amazon.com, Fry’s Electronics and RadioShack.
He joined Sony in 1990 and left the global consumer electronics firm last spring. During his career at Sony, McTighe drove sales plans and execution for six major product areas including television, home audio/video, portable audio, digital imaging, and information technology/media products. As a result of his expertise, his sales district consistently outperformed other regions.
“Dennis brings exceptional expertise in consumer electronics, evidenced by his accomplishments at Sony,” said Winston Guillory, Jr., president of RaySat Broadcasting. “AT&T CruiseCast is one of the most exciting consumer electronics products to hit the market, and we are delighted to have him on our team.”
McTighe, of suburban Southlake, Texas, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
AT&T CruiseCast offers a family friendly variety of channels, including Cartoon Network Mobile, Disney Channel, DisneyXD, Discovery Kids, USA Network, Discovery, Animal Planet, SyFy, Lifetime Television, Adult Swim Mobile, ESPN Mobile, NFL Network, CBS College Sports Network, FOX News, CNN mobile, MSNBC and AccuWeather.
The AT&T CruiseCast service is consumer-friendly and does not include cumbersome equipment. The service is transmitted through a small pod-like antenna that affixes to the vehicle roof. The antenna is paired with a receiver, which is installed in the vehicle, providing all video and audio connections to the appropriate vehicle systems, such as rear-seat entertainment or vehicle audio systems.
AT&T CruiseCast service utilizes breakthrough technology that helps to overcome line-of-sight obstacles such as overpasses, buildings, trees or tunnels to deliver television programming to cars, non-commercial trucks and SUVs. The service was created through the collaboration of RBC, a privately held U.S. company, and AT&T*, the world’s premier telecommunications company.
AT&T CruiseCast service is available through a nationwide network of authorized installers and aftermarket-car retail outlets. Once the system is installed, consumers can sign up online for service at www.cruisecast.com or call 1-866-800-9030. The manufacturer’s advertised price of the equipment (antenna and receiver) is $1,299 and the monthly subscription fee is $28.
