Naval Support Activity Monterey Implements a Biometric Access Control Technology
PORTLAND, Ore.-(Business Wire)-September 10, 2009 - Naval Support Activity Monterey has implemented the RAPIDGate® Program to increase security and streamline access for the thousands of vendors, suppliers, service providers and contractors who access the installation. The RAPIDGate Program, a product of Portland, OR-based Eid Passport, Inc., is an identity management and access control program which includes company enrollment, employee registration, employment status validation, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification, and entry authorization.
Utilizing Eid Passport’s patented program, employees who register for the program and successfully pass the background screening receive streamlined access to Naval Support Activity Monterey. The installation is home of the Monterey Naval Postgraduate School, Naval Security Group Detachment, Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center and the Naval Support Activity Monterey Bay.
