VIENNA, Va.-(Business Wire)-September 9, 2009 - NJVC raised more than $7,300 at its second charity golf tournament this summer for Laptops for the Wounded, a nonprofit organization that provides webcam-equipped laptops to wounded veterans in military hospitals. One of the largest information technology solutions providers for the U.S. Department of Defense, NJVC recently established a philanthropic partnership with the organization to extend its support to soldiers and their families.

On Aug. 28, NJVC hosted its Eighth Annual NJVC Golf Tournament West at Cardinal Creek Golf Course on Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Approximately 120 players participated in the tournament, including NJVC staff members; employees of NJVC partner companies; and Phil Drouin, president and CEO of Laptops for the Wounded.

“NJVC is a proud supporter of Laptops for the Wounded,” said Jody Tedesco, NJVC president and general manager. “The organization does such great work on behalf of our wounded troops on an unbelievably small administrative budget. Through events like company-sponsored charity golf tournaments and the generosity of our employees, NJVC will continue to support this incredibly worthwhile organization.”

In June, the company raised $14,000 at a golf tournament in Chantilly, Va., to support Laptops for the Wounded. In October, NJVC will host its First Annual Charity Poker Run, a motorcycle ride fundraising event. Information on the ride is available at www.njvc.com.

“The relationship with NJVC has greatly impacted Laptops for the Wounded,” said Drouin. “Through the company’s generosity, we now expect to donate more than double the number of laptops we originally anticipated to military hospitals to help our wounded warriors keep in touch with loved ones during their recoveries.”
