Mom’s Jewels Helping Schools
STERLING, Va.-(Business Wire)-September 9, 2009 - N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc. (NEW), the leading provider of extended service plans, raised $20,000 during a Mother’s Day jewelry campaign with retail partner JCPenney to support the JCPenney Afterschool Fund, which provides children in need with access to high-quality afterschool programs that inspire them to be smart, strong and socially responsible.
During the month of May, NEW made a donation for every jewelry and watch care plan sold, and JCPenney matched the total amount raised.
“NEW and JCPenney share many values, including a dedication to delivering quality service and giving back to the community,” said Kharl Mena, senior director for NEW. “We are honored to participate in a program that benefits less fortunate children and also supports our retail partner’s signature charity.”
The JCPenney Afterschool Fund partners with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, YMCA of the USA, National 4-H and United Way of America to provide children with access to afterschool programs. Since its founding in 1999, JCPenney and the JCPenney Afterschool Fund have contributed more than $70 million to the afterschool cause.
NEW regularly supports worthy charitable causes in the communities where its employees live and work, often partnering with charities that benefit children.
