Coors Light Unveils Inaugural Press Conference Hall of Fame to Kick off ’09 Season

CHICAGO-(Business Wire)-September 8, 2009 - Coors Light, “The World’s Most Refreshing Beer,” today unveiled the 2009 Coors Light Press Conference Hall of Fame and the coaches being honored in Canton, Ohio, at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Former NFL coach Herm Edwards, known for his legendary “You play to win the game…" rant, was on-site for the ceremony to reveal the ice-carved busts on behalf of the honored recipients of 2009.

“Over the past four years, the Coors Light ‘Coaches’ commercials have gained iconic status with NFL fans,” said Rick Gomez, vice president of marketing for Coors Light. “We are pleased to be able to honor some of our most memorable coaches and their famous rants by honoring them as part of our inaugural Press Conference Hall of Fame.”

The 2009 Coors Light Press Conference Hall of Fame includes former NFL coaches Edwards, Brian Billick, Romeo Crennel, Mike Ditka, Dennis Green and Jim Mora. The coaches were selected based on the notoriety of their rants and popularity of their Coors Light commercials with fans.

To kick off the brand’s Silver Ticket promotions, Edwards also gave away a Coors Light Football Package to the Kickoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans on Thursday, September 10. Now in its fourth year, the Coors Light Silver Ticket promotion gives fans the chance to win tickets to the NFL regular season game of their choice all season long. Coors Light NFL Kickoff activities will continue in Pittsburgh September 8-10 at Point State Park, the site of NFL Opening Kickoff 2009, where fans have the chance to star in their own press conference commercial at the Coors Light Cold Zone.
