University of Pittsburgh Offers Media Resources for Coverage of G-20 Summit Issues
PITTSBURGH-(Business Wire)-September 8, 2009 - Media are invited to participate in the science and technology tours being held in conjunction with the Pittsburgh G-20 Summit Sept. 24-25. Twelve one-hour tours—hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center—are being offered on Monday, Sept. 21. They will highlight the science and technology that is driving the region’s economy.
The “eds-meds” tour program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium, 4141 Fifth Ave., in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, with remarks by Carnegie Mellon President Jared L. Cohon, Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg, and UPMC President and CEO Jeffrey A. Romoff. Registration for the “eds-meds” tours is at www.edsmedspittsburgh.org.
Tour sites are Children’s Hospital of UPMC, the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER), Biomedical Science Tower 3, McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the Center for Global Health, the Sports Performance Complex, the Robotics Institute, the Entertainment Technology Center, the Pitt Green Tour, the Center for Energy, the Quality of Life Technology Center, and the Intelligent Workplace.
These tours are for Summit delegates and members of the media only. Media interested in attending must have identification from the media outlets they represent.
