Unemployed Professionals Offered Chance to Receive Scholarship to Educational and Motivational Re-Branding YOU Conference
NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-September 1, 2009 - Re-Branding YOU™, a new initiative dedicated to educating and empowering the legions of unemployed professionals throughout the NY Metro Area, is offering a limited number of scholarships to help individuals re-brand themselves to prepare for a new career or launch a small business in today's economy.
Entrepreneurs Pat Ahaesy and Ny Whitaker launched Re-Branding YOU in January 2009 as a community response to the nation's financial crisis. They personally funded scholarships at the pilot conference in March and successfully helped 100 unemployed professionals attend.
“We launched the Re-branding YOU initiative because we believe in “paying it forward” and think participants can help each other by sharing their personal struggles,” commented Ny Whitaker.
Partner Pat Ahaesy noted that the stories will be made available on the redesigned Re-Branding YOU™ website, which will also include articles and sites of interest, sources of information about emerging markets, relevant information on launching a small business, access to job sites, and a blog.
To apply for a Scholarship to a future NYC Re-Branding YOU™ Conference, candidates must visit the website www.re-brandingyou.com and meet the following criteria:
- Currently unemployed
- Over twenty-five years of age
- Last Salary of $40,000 and above
According to Conference participant Pamela Skillings, a career coach and author of Escape from Corporate America,"Re-Branding YOU teaches personal branding strategies and helps people realize that they have more power than they thought over their career transitions."
