POTTSTOWN, Pa.-(Business Wire)-August 31, 2009 - CODY Systems, the industry leader in integrated software solutions for real-time collection, analysis and sharing of critical data for public safety, law enforcement, regulatory enforcement and intelligence agencies, today announced that its integrated software suite, including Records Management and Mobile Field Reporting modules, will be used by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Enforcement Program, one of the largest and most well respected fish and wildlife law enforcement programs in the nation.

CODY Records™ and CODY Mobile™ along with other software enhancements will be implemented by the agency in the first of a two-phase project, with CODY Mobile being deployed to all Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement officers’ laptops so these officers can access the agency’s records database and complete reports throughout the state while the officer is out in the field. Access will be through a state-provided Wide Area Network (WAN). In addition, CODY will deliver an integrated WACIC (Washington Crime Information Center)/NCIC interface, data conversion and migration, training and related services.

The agency will also implement CODY Dispatch™ and CODY Investigations™ statewide during Phase Two of the project. CODY Dispatch will support statewide Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) operations in conjunction with a new dispatch center located in the department’s headquarters in Olympia. CODY Investigations will support the agency’s investigators with case management and advanced “connect the dots” visual analysis tools.

“We are excited to be working with the State of Washington’s Department of Fish and Wildlife. Having one of the nation’s largest and well-thought-of fish and wildlife enforcement agencies now part of the CODY family is a true testament to the flexibility and breadth of the solutions our team delivers,” said Fran Heffner, CEO of CODY Systems. “With our other state wildlife and conservation enforcement clients, Washington not only gives us more experience in the natural resources and wildlife protection arena, but it allows us to showcase our capabilities over such an expansive region and project. Being able to connect an agent on a mountaintop in the state’s northwestern corner to another agent wading in a stream in the southeastern corner so they can better protect wildlife and sportsmen is a privilege for us.”

CODY’s technology allows the agency’s 156 full-time fish and wildlife officers to effectively and efficiently carry out duties and tasks. Washington’s fish and wildlife officers are police officers with full arrest powers, deployed to six regions of the state and one Marine division. These officers’ duties include teaching hunter education courses, search and rescue missions, policing the state’s forests, rivers, lakes and vast Pacific coastline to protect and serve the state’s vast wildlife and sportsmen.

Bruce Bjork, Chief of the Enforcement Program said, “CODY is a well known and long respected name in the area of public safety and regulatory enforcement software, with great experience in the conservation and wildlife enforcement arena. CODY is a U.S. company with a 24/7 service center in the United States. The company’s extensive business history and service record were two of the primary factors WDFW used in selecting a CAD/RMS/MDT vendor.”

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will be deploying the following integrated modules from the CODY Public Safety Suite:

  • CODY Records is a comprehensive records management, analysis and reporting module that allows agencies to organize, manage, cross-reference and effectively use all the various types of records collected. CODY Records provides an unparalleled level of database integration, enabling users to concurrently access, search for, report on and analyze all information collected by the agency on any person, incident, vehicle, business, piece of property/evidence, etc. in one intuitive interface.
  • CODY Mobile (Mobile Field-Reporting, Records Management and Dispatch Link) —gives mobile and remote units real-time integrated access to the agency database and a robust RMS client for use in the field, along with mobile and silent dispatch access with instant messaging. CODY Mobile utilizes smart-client network healing technology to maintain a secure wireless link to the main server allowing the remote unit to conduct normal operations, even when no network signal is available.
  • CODY Dispatch (CAD) is a comprehensive, integrated CAD module that allows users to quickly and accurately respond to complex situations by routing equipment and personnel intelligently to the scene and arming them with critical information about the persons, places, vehicles, etc. that are involved. CODY Dispatch puts top focus on flexibility and ease of use. Dispatchers can customize the interface to fit their work-style, with hot-dockable tabs, choice of input modes, audio and/or visual alerts, and more. CAD is integrated with all CODY components and features NCIC and state lookups, full bi-directional integration with CODY Records and Mobile and more.
  • CODY Investigations is a fully integrated case management and investigative analysis module that provides investigators the capability to track, examine, analyze and report on all aspects of a case, providing CODY’s Data Visualizer, an advanced data-mining and analysis tool.
