ORLANDO, Fla.-(Business Wire)-August 28, 2009 - CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container pooling solutions, presented the National Onion Association (NOA) with a check for $12,316.76 during a ceremony at the trade group’s summer convention July 24, 2009 in Montreal. The check was given on the first anniversary of the partnership between the NOA and CHEP. The funds will be used for a wide range of consumer and foodservice promotion and educational programs.

“We are extremely pleased with the first year of our partnership with CHEP. They have delivered as promised on two levels – our members are realizing important supply chain and customer service benefits, and the association is receiving much needed funding for our health and education publicity efforts,” said Kim Reddin, Director of Public and Industry Relations of the NOA.

The CHEP program provides onion growers and shippers with durable pallets that improve productivity and lower product damage, while enhancing service to retail and wholesale customers. CHEP’s global reach also ensures a reliable supply of pallets and is an environment-friendly option for shipping platforms.

“The National Onion Association represents the leading edge of trade marketing and educational programs, and CHEP is honored to play a role in their effort to promote the industry. This check is the first of what we hope are many to come in future years,” said Tim Smith, Vice President, Business Development, CHEP.
