EXTON, Pa.-(Business Wire)-August 27, 2009 - Two of the decking and railing industry’s premier conference and trade shows will be held during the week of October 26, 2009. Principia Partners’ 6th annual executive conference on the Wood-Plastic and Natural Fiber Composites used in decking, railing, fencing and other outdoor building products is on October 26-27, 2009 at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, MD.

DeckExpo, hosted by Hanley Wood Exhibitions, is the official trade show of the North American Decking and Railing Association Inc. (NADRA). This year, DeckExpo is being run side-by-side with the Remodeling Show at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. DeckExpo education programs start on Tuesday, October 27 and the show floor opens on Wednesday, October 28 running through Friday afternoon, October 30, 2009.

Michael Beaudry, Executive Vice President of NADRA, said, “Industry participants have an opportunity to attend Principia’s conference to learn about the latest technologies and innovations that will drive WPC and cellular vinyl product changes during the next several years, and then attend DeckExpo and the Remodeling Show to continue networking, as well as to see current and new product lines for all aspects of the deck industry.” Principia’s conference ends mid-afternoon on Tuesday and the DeckExpo Exhibit Floor opens on Wednesday.

Steve Van Kouteren, Principal at Principia Partners, agreeing with Mr. Beaudry commented, “One advantage of back-to-back shows is executives will have a chance to catch up on all the latest industry news and product technologies as well as network with their peers and meet with their distribution partners at our conference. People can then take a short, direct flight to Indianapolis to catch the opening of DeckExpo on Wednesday. Information from Principia’s conference will be fresh and executives can leverage their new ideas by talking with their decking and remodeling contractor customers at DeckExpo.”

Principia will open the conference with an insightful state of the industry presentation to review composite material demand in decking, railing, fence, siding and other building products; summarize market trends and developments; and provide an outlook for the next few years. The conference will then take an in-depth look at innovation from the product and process viewpoint, as well as downstream issues related to consumer needs and distribution channels.

“We are excited about presentations by outside innovation experts to provide a fresh perspective on innovation and product design to executives in the vinyl and WPC building products business. IDEO, a globally recognized, innovation and design consulting firm, will lead the session on product and process innovation,” says Mr. Van Kouteren.
